Oil & Gas

Energyworks has extensive Oil & Gas experience from the Well Head through to the end user, including; Wellhead Piping, Gathering Pipelines, Production Facilities and Export Pipelines.

New Zealand’s oil and gas industry is extremely active and has a strong track record with established infrastructure spanning production and storage facilities, specialist port facilities and a reticulated network throughout the North Island.

New Zealand’s energy province, Taranaki, is home to all of the nation’s oil and natural gas production, and 90 percent of the industry’s nationwide employment, generating $NZ 2.5 billion in GDP for the country.

Power Generation

Energyworks provides mechanical support to Alstom Switzerland and Contact Energy for the 350MW Taranaki Combined Cycle Power Station and we have successfully completed several major mechanical maintenance outages and plant upgrades.

The Taranaki Combined Cycle Power Station (TCC) is a large, efficient and modern plant, producing 377MW of electricity. The heart of TCC is one of the largest gas turbines in the world housed in a single building.

In addition, the company was responsible for installing 2 x LMS100 Gas Turbine Generators for both Contact Energy’s Stratford Peaker Project and the Nova Energy Peaker Project Plant. The fast-start gas turbine peaking units located at each site, supply enough electricity for 200,000 average homes and can go from a cold start to full load in just 10 minutes.

Energyworks also provides mechanical support to Trust Power on its Hydro Power Stations.

Petrochemical

The petrochemical industry, which produces chemicals using oil and natural gas as major raw materials, occupies an important position in New Zealand's manufacturing and consuming sectors.

Energyworks provides mechanical maintenance and project services to Methanex, Ballance Agri Nutirents and Dynea, which includes stainless steel piping, general mechanical work and Industrial Coatings services.

Methanex is New Zealand’s only methanol manufacturer, with three production facilities providing the capacity to produce up to 2.4 million tonnes of methanol annually. Approximately 95 per cent of the methanol they produce is exported to the Asia Pacific region. They own and operate three plants in Taranaki: two at Motunui and one in the Waitara Valley near the city of New Plymouth.

Ballance Agri-Nutrients is New Zealand's recognised expert in agri-nutrient advice and supply and sustainable farm management. They operate an Ammonia/Urea Plant in Kapuni, South Taranaki where we provide mechanical maintenance support.

Dairy & Food

Energyworks manufactures and installs high pressure equipment for spray dryers and filtration equipment. We also manufacture and install service piping, and other piping systems for application in dairy factories and food manufacturing plants.
